      How to Sow and Plant

      How to Sow and Plant

      • Sowing Seeds Indoors:
        • Timing: Start seeds indoors 8-10 weeks before the last frost date.
        • Planting: Fill seed trays with a seed-starting mix. Sow seeds on the surface and lightly press them into the soil. Cover with a thin layer of seed-starting mix.
        • Conditions: Maintain a temperature of 65-70°F (18-21°C) and keep the soil consistently moist. Provide bright, indirect light or use grow lights.
        • Germination: Seeds typically germinate in 2-4 weeks.
        • Transplanting: Once seedlings are large enough to handle and have developed a few sets of true leaves, transplant them into larger pots. Harden off seedlings by gradually exposing them to outdoor conditions before planting them in the garden.
      • Sowing Directly in the Garden:
        • Timing: Sow seeds outdoors in spring or autumn.
        • Planting: Choose a shaded or partially shaded area with well-drained soil. Sow seeds on the surface of the soil and lightly cover with a thin layer of soil.
        • Conditions: Keep the soil consistently moist but not waterlogged. Seeds may take several weeks to germinate.
        • Spacing: Once seedlings are established, thin them to provide space for healthy growth.

      FAQs

      FAQs

      • How do I care for Hydrangea Tivoli?
        • Hydrangea Tivoli thrives in partial shade to full shade. Keep the soil consistently moist and apply a layer of mulch to retain moisture. Prune after flowering to maintain shape and remove spent blooms.
      • How can I change the flower color of Hydrangea Tivoli?
        • The color of Hydrangea blooms can be influenced by soil pH. For blue flowers, ensure the soil is acidic; for pink flowers, aim for a more alkaline soil. Use appropriate soil amendments to adjust pH.
      • What should I do if my Hydrangea Tivoli is not blooming?
        • Ensure the plant is in the right light conditions and that the soil is consistently moist. Prune only after the blooming period to avoid cutting off potential flower buds.

      1. I planted these mid May in zone 6b. Early to mid July I have flowers. They all germinated and are producing! I cannot say the same for other brands and varieties.
